We welcome donations of sheets, quilt covers, general bedding and towels.

We can also use clothes, shoes, belts and bags for re-use.

Do you need furniture, electrical appliances or household items?

We are able to help to provide most items you would need to make an empty nest into a home, or your home more homely. A typical example of what we aim to have available can be found here. .

Are you eligible?

The Dorset Reclaim Project is available to anyone who is financially disadvantaged. this could mean being on a low income, or in receipt of a means tested benefit such as;

  • Income support
  • Incapacity benefit
  • Jobseekers allowance
  • Housing benefit
  • Working tax credit
If you are unsure if you or someone you know would be included, then please call us.

At the warehouse

When you come to the warehouse you will need to bring proof of your eligibility. This can be anything in writing that supports your benefit, or working tax credit, together with some proof of identity and address.

If you are at all unsure of what you need to bring, or whether you may qualify, contact us for help.

On arrival, you will be helped by our reception staff who will take your details and enter you on our computer system, so you can come back at any time in the next six weeks to look for the items you need. Registration will mean you can use any one of the three depots.

One of our client reception volunteers will show you round the warehouse where you can look for the items you need and arrange delivery, if you are unable to take them away yourself.
Stock changes daily, so if a particular item you require at your budget is not available on your first visit, something will probably be within a short time.
Again, a Client reception volunteer will be on hand to help and advise you.

Delivery service

Delivery can be arranged for £15. We organise our deliveries by area (as our collection days), a list of which can be found here... so the longest you should have to wait for for your furniture to be delivered is five working days. In special circumstances deliveries can be made more quickly on request, please talk to our client reception volunteer when you visit for more help.

Prices

We do expect donations to be made for the furniture selected. Dorset Reclaim is a not-for-profit charity, and simply need to cover our running costs and ensure we will be around to supply furniture to local people in the future.
